Design Philosphy
Hi all,
I wanted to talk about an aspect of the design philosophy of this game now that I've released a major update.
When making this game I followed the iterative design philosophy. A simple explanation of iterative design is, you make the simplest version of the thing you want to make and the reflect and adjust it until it is what you need it to be and then you layer in complexity or add to it a little bit at a time.
When I started making this game I had a lot of ideas for how I wanted to end up (and that list keeps growing) but wasn't sure I would get add them all. The plan is to add bits and pieces at a time to continue to develop the game but if I decide to stop, I still have a finished product I can be satisfied with. I had even made 8 different 'finished' versions of the game before I first published it here.
When I published this game I always intended to continue adding to it, but I didn't want to make that promise until I had done that at least once.
