Devil's Path Legacy v1.10.2 update/changelog
Wow!
I've made some big changes to the coding for most of the game. I've been able to implement some mechanics I never thought I would get to do and it has opened up a lot of options going forward.
The most significant changes is improvements to the range of ingredients and recipes available. The way I had coded things before made it very difficult to add new recipes and ingredients but now it is fairly easy. I constantly felt like I was forgetting something when I added ingredients or stages of the recipe, just because it is so easy now.
I've also laid a bit of a framework for skill progression as well so you can get idea of what that might look like in the future.
Because a lot of the mechanics were adjusted I had redo a lot of things like damage, score, prices, etc. and I've tried to rebalance everything but I can make a lot more informed choices than, for example, someone who didn't program the game. It's hard to know how balanced it will be for everyone else so please let me know how you feel.
Posted below is a list of changes that I remembered to write down (there is probably more, almost everything changed a little).

My plan for the next update is to some updates to the art/design of the game and the itch.io page.
I also want to look at making a more branching story so the player has some more narrative choice, as well as improve characters of the story but I'm not sure if that will be part of the same update or not. It will depend on how big those tasks turn out to be.
